Who would have thought 15 years ago that Green Day was going to eventually create two concept albums (so far) and that they were going to get transformed into Broadway shows. That would have been the bet of a lifetime to place at the height of the pseudo-alternative, proto-pop-punk, grunge era of the mid 90’s. Green Day cut their teeth writing songs about masturbation, getting stoned and named their breakout album after a euphemism for shit. Who’d have guessed this a decade and a half later?
